The ID card is the proof of bonafide – student status. A course certificate will also be issued by the School of Distance Education, to the student on specific request.
Syllabus & Supportive Study Material :
The relevant syllabus copy will be issued at the beginning of the programme. Study material prepared as per the format of Distance Education Council will be supplied at the allotted PCP centres or study centre cum spot admission centres where they were admitted by production of the ID card. Students admitted directly at the school of distance education and its city centres can get the study materials in person at the PCP centres during the period of contact classes or at SDE or by post. Study materials, on any account will not be issued to any person (even parents, brothers, sisters or friends) other than the students.
The students should make their own arrangements to procure other prescribed reference / text books. Though Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi Urudu, Arabi and French are offered as languages under Part I of the under-graduate Degree programmes, the school will supply study-material for Tamil subject only.
Attendance Requirement :
Attendance at Personal Contact Programmes, (PCP) is not compulsory, however for practical classes 50% attendance is compulsory. The Practical sessions will not be restricted to weekends, or holidays, but will be arranged continuously. Practical sessions may be arranged at the Study Centres if considered feasible by the University.
Project work :
Each student should carry out a project during the final year of the programme, wherever prescribed. The specific directions regarding the project work will be issued at appropriate time.

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a well – behaved and disciplined manner at the PCP and practical sessions at the Centres. Any complaint about indiscipline will be viewed seriously, resulting in the student being removed from the rolls of SDE.
